                                                In the glorious advent of dawn

                                                Reluctance, fear, and chance

                                                Play up my soul.

                                    A wicked soup

                                                Ever so tempting…

                                                Too hot and yet so cold.

                                    A strange brew,

                                                This solace of you.

 

                                    Relentless Fate toying with my heart

                                                A scheming mystic mischief

                                                Guised as Venus’s iniquitous li’l tart

                                    Enticingly sweet and plausibly brittle.

                                                I crash and crumble

                                                Humbled

                                    By this strange brew,

                                     Baleful distress, disdain, and distance

                                                I do realize

                                                To my demise

                                                Excruciating resistance.

                                    Scorn and torn, I let my heart

                                                And mind be still.
